The Creation of Adam is a fresco painting by Michelangelo, which forms part of the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling, painted c. 1508–1512. It illustrates the Biblical creation narrative from the Book of Genesis in which God breathes life into Adam, the first man. (Wikipedia)
I woke out of sleep this morning with this tagline made famous by American bandleader and songwriter, Samuel Zarnocay Jr., “Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye.” Usually when I receive something from the Lord, it’s the seasonable word of the Lord for the body of Christ. Now you are probably wondering what this picture has to do with this title song. Many years ago my spiritual mother received this phrase while driving down the highway, “Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye.” At the time she did not understand what it meant but waited upon the Lord for interpretation. As she began to search out God’s heart, she came upon the hebrew name, “Samekh Hey.” In the Hebrew calendar, the year 5765 or 2005 was the year of Samekh Hey. If you break down the definition of Samekh it means, to lean upon, uphold or support; to encompass or encircle. It’s the same concept of the Jewish people being betrothed to God on Mount Sinai. When the Torah was given, God was obligated to sustain and uphold them with His mighty hand. It’s also the consecrating of the priesthood or priestly blessing. Without going into too much detail, the Gematria for the word Samekh is 120 which represents a double portion of blessing given in both the former and new covenant of Yeshua. The divine of God’s creation revealed in both the seasons and rhythms of the feasts. Now if you add the word, “Hey” the word represents divine breath, revelation or light. The numerical value of Hey is five. It also means to “look or behold!” What is fascinating about the letter Hey is adding this letter to to the name Abram to Abraham changed the course of his destiny. The same letter Hey was inserted into Sarai to become Sarah meaning ‘Princess’; so God breathed his life and grace within Abram and Sarai, transforming them and their seed to be a ‘father/mother of many nations.’
As I was pondering the meaning of this word Samekh Hey, I sensed God’s betrothal to seek the affection or love from His people to consecrate themselves to one husband as a chaste virgin committed to union in Him. Song of Songs 2:7 says it best… “do not rouse nor awaken my love until she pleases.” But when the Holy Spirit breathes His breath within us we are transformed from ordinary or common to divine and holy. God’s divine nature/grace breathed within His people will distinguish between the holy and the profane (common) and mark them as His people and He will be their God.
It’s like i had this internal dialogue with the Lord that didn’t require verbal communication but He simply read the ponderings of my heart… As the conversation ensued I heard Him say, “It’s my divine influence upon the heart.” When i looked up that phrase it pulled up one word, “Grace.” It is the ability to discern or understand by divine persuation or to Sway by divine revelation. So the phrase, “Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye (Samekh Hey) signifies the divine nature of God breathed into His people, transforming them into the expressed image and likeness of Christ Jesus as mature sons of God.
In summary, the word “Samekh Hey” is God’s divine influence upon the heart of man to catch the currents of the river of God that will carry or move us along into the ‘new thing.’ The disciples (120) who were instructed to “wait for the promise of the Father,” had grace to tarry until the Holy Spirit and fire was imparted for them to be witnesses from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the earth. When the gift of the Holy Spirit descended upon them they were transformed into Kingdom emissary’s. They transitioned from being taught and discipled to fiery agents of change that turned the world upside down.
There is a call of God to come up here and receive the ‘Grace’ that we need to be His agents of change to affect a whole generation and transform the culture of earth to look like heaven. I am convinced that we cannot go any further without a ‘new anointing’ of His Great Grace to come up here to the throne of grace and receive special instruction to communicate His will on earth as it already is in heaven.
It’s time to “Swing and Sway with Samekh Hey.”
