A friend of mine was doing research on their family tree and journeyed to discover the redemption of a new line with a brand new heritage and a birthright of righteousness through this redemptive seed.
My son, has a family tree school project for US History due in a few weeks. Bundles have been arriving from the four corners of the country containing information pertaining to all four blood lines that intersect at the birth of my son and his older sister. This project has engaged my husband and I as well. We sift through the contents of each package, looking at pictures and learning of a time and people, most long forgotten, and a few still cherished in the recesses of our memories. We’ve listened to stories on speaker phone from the lips of the elders of each line and pondered the impact each life and their corresponding decisions have made on the others.
Surprisingly, I find myself on a sentimental journey over a people I have never even met and yet we are bound together by blood. It strikes me that without them, there is no us, and I am compelled to know more as patterns become visible from generation to generation, not all righteous or desired.
Life is fleeting. It keeps moving with the passing of time even when we would rather it halt and wait for us to catch our breath. We best cherish it while we can. We best cherish what makes life worth living…..Love. For without Love, life is anything but grand. The essence of Love is Truth that sets the captive free.
I ask for eyes to see where Love has prevailed in our branches.
The branches of a family can hold many secrets. Some of those secrets are ugly and pain ridden, others are pockets of hope and life waiting to be unfurled. In either case, when brought to the Light the healing can begin and darkness be overcome; for no generational line is without the stain of sin which causes our “tree” to be twisted and diseased. It began in the Garden when we believed a lie and ate from the wrong tree multiplying the effects of the wrong tree for the generations to come. Most earthly heritage involves some form of demon worship at its foundation. Therefore, needing cleansing through the Redeeming Blood of The Holy Seed.
There is a happy ending to the story for any diseased tree that will embrace it. A new Seed has been released into the earth! A Holy Seed, without blemish. What good news! Good tidings of great joy for all people! This Holy Seed will cleanse us and graft us into a new line of which we can have a heritage, a birthright of righteousness thru faith in this Redemptive Seed. This Seed is Love incarnate. The power of this Love to deliver, heal and bring freedom is sure. This Love is a jealous Love and requires fidelity; fidelity of heart and mind. This Love is Faithful and True, His name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He never fails to bring life and hope for tomorrow. He has the authority/ability to make the “tree” straight, eradicating disease, because all power and authority in heaven and upon the earth now belongs to Him. He won it back when He conquered sin and death. That was His purpose in coming to earth to overcome all the works of darkness. His Father granted Him this responsibility and honor so that He would be the first of many to represent the Father in meekness and might, power and love. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we give up our diseased earthly heritage to become citizens of a different kingdom becoming joint-heirs with Christ.
– Our tree is henceforth redeemed to bring forth good fruit for the Kingdom of God.
When we embrace this new heritage we receive beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair so we shall be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.
As such, we are called to rebuild the ancient ruins, restore the places long devastated, and renew the ruined cities that have been desolate of many generations.
In Christ Jesus, we trade the shame and disgrace of a perverse, twisted tree for a righteous, double portion, blessed inheritance and everlasting joy is ours. Halleluiah!
I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices
in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of
salvation and arrayed me in robes of righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with jewels. For as the
soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seed to
grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise
spring up from all nations!
For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender branches will not cease. Though its root waxes old in the earth, and its stock dies in the ground, yet through the scent of water it will bud and bring forth boughs like a new plant.
